Studio 1 Performing Arts

Studio 1 is celebrating 40 years of excellence in dance education. Under the Direction of Kim Haight and the Studio 1 Faculty, we provide quality dance education for the beginner to the advanced level. Classes are available for ages 3 years to adults. Studio 1 offers a recreational program and a pre professional program. All students are enrolled in the recreational program and attend class once a week. The pre professional program is for the students who audition to become members of the Dance Company. .

Studio 1 is Home to the Star South Dance Company, which is made up of selected Studio 1 students.  Company provides these more serious students with pre professional training and opportunities to do additional performances, competitions, and study with nationally recognized guest choreographers and instructors . Star South Dance Company was formed in 1987.  These dancers are chosen by auditioning each year to showcase our most serious and well trained dancers.  Company is open to ages 5 years old through adults. 

The Dance year begins August and runs through the following May ending with the annual Spring Show.  Summer Camps are offered in the summer months of June and July. We offer 2 shows a year in which all students participate. The Nutcracker Ballet and The Christmas Spectacular are done in December and The Spring Showcase is done in May.
